𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐌𝐞

Hi! I’m Janet, a current undergraduate student at UC Davis. I was born and raised in California. I am majoring in Chinese, and I’m currently working on my double major in Sociology (Organizational Studies). My goals for the future includes connecting with others and to service those who are in need.

I like to dabble in various topics, such as the culture of Americans, Chinese, and South Koreans. I find the interactions between people of different upbringings very interesting. Perhaps this is also reflected through my personal upbringing as a Chinese American person. Aside from culture talks, I can go on for hours about my personal interests. This includes analysis, debates, opinions, and future prospects. Take my Drama List as an example: I find joy talking about very specific details that I believe others would also enjoy or talk about.

My current hobbies include reading mystery romance novels, reading romance mangas, and watching romcom mystery dramas and movies. I also love listening to music, especially Chinese and Korean pop, rnb, hiphop, and rap. I also collect various items, such as albums, photocards, quarters, and much more.

You might see me under the alias of “Jenna” on almost all platforms. Some might be wondering about the origin of this name. Jenna is a huge part of my identity - it is a family nickname that has been stuck with me since childhood. The name “Janet” is hard for a lot of family members to pronounce. Linguistically, Ja becomes Jen, and Net becomes Ne (soft Na). In addition, my Chinese name is Zhenni 珍妮, which sounds like Jennie. With all factors tied together, Jenna became the outcome. It gets to the point where family members believe Janet is pronounced as Jenna.

I love watching Cinderella remakes or spin-offs. I’ve watched countless versions from various countries.
My MBTI is INTJ, but I do believe that there’s always more than just these 4 letters that can tell you who I am.
I’m not allergic to anything, but for some reason, I sneeze at least 3 times a day.
I really enjoy logic puzzles and murder mystery games. My Sudoku skills are relatively great.
I enjoy watching comedic standups, especially crowdworks from Hasan Minhaj, Akash Singh, Gianmarco Soresi, etc. </aside>
